One last poem for National Poetry Month …
Nesting: An Egret Limerick
Our home – it is here in the sticks,
With three very boisterous chicks.
They bully and fight
Until they take flight,
But it’s nothing that we cannot fix.
This is not just a poetry book but a lovely book about one of my favorite birds, stemming I am sure, from the time when we lived in Charleston and were graced with their daily presence. The beauty of this book lies in the photography, the poetry and the facts about egrets that are included with each poem.
If you have a child who is already interested in the natural world, or you want to encourage that interest…you might want to take a look at this delightful book.
