Yo Ho! Let’s Go! That’s what our Little Pirate is saying these days. He’s practicing for Halloween…yes he’s going to be a pirate. I couldn’t resist when I found this picture. The little boys pictured are having so much fun!

Are you ready for Halloween? Have an awesome weekend and enjoy these few posts from around the web.

  • Now that it is getting dark so early, this might be a fun “starry starry night” art project! This could be a real mini-lesson – talk about Van Gogh and his famous Starry Night painting…and you could listen to that oldie but goodie from Don McLean .
  • Here’s a Halloween pack of fun that should keep someone occupied for a few minutes!
  • Looking forward to Thanksgiving…this could be a fun project to work in for the month of November as a family – A Thanksgiving Banner.
  • Wallet Cards – I think you might want to check these out – Available in numbers, alphabet, go, and colors and shapes! Could be a great stocking stuffer for children age 3-6.
  • Looking for a way to “spook” up your child’s lunch box on Halloween, and keep it healthy? Look no further.

And just a quick update…The Canadian Children’s Book Centre announced the winners of the 2013 Canadian Children’s Literature Awards. Included in them was…Mr. Zinger’s Hat, which won the Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award. Congratulations! You can read our review here.
