How Far Would You Go…To Make Food Fun and Appealing for Children?

Do you Pinterest? I was certainly late to the game…but I think I am making up for lost time! As if any of us needed anything else to waste time on. But like so many things…Pinterest can suck you in and before you know it BOOM…an hour has flown by! And what have you accomplished? Seen a few new recipes to try? Yes. Had a look at outside “things” for children to play on/in? Yes. Children’s spring fashion? Yes. Looking for a place to travel for Spring/Summer vacation? Yes. Because you name it…and someone has pinned it. It can get overwhelming. I wonder if anyone has developed “Pinitis” yet?

Well, that is all a very long way of starting a post about fun and interesting food styling that you can find for children. Now – some of the examples that I am going to show you are beyond even the scope of what I MIGHT consider doing for Beanie. I mean really!

Do you know Samantha Lee? According to her website, she started making food art in December 2008. When she was pregnant with her second daughter. It was meant as a way to encourage her elder daughter to eat independently after the arrival of her younger sister. She sketches her designs before she makes them into food to stay organized and prevent food wastage. Scissors, knives and toothpicks are my tools. She likes to make something practical, something for everyone to be able to follow.

Check out her Fly (me) to the moon with love. I have included the ingredients that she used below:
