Caught this image of a Northern Harrier hawk at Barr Lake State Park in Colorado. We had gone there with the hopes of getting some photos of bald eagles. There were some bald eagles there, though they were not very active. It was the other birds, the hawks, ducks, herons, and a distant view of two rough-legged hawks battling over a dead goose that provided the morning’s entertainment. The most memorable sighting was of this Norther Harrier hawk bobbing across the lake stopping at several small sand bars along the way. Flying just in front of the observation deck, it was impossible not to get several great photos.
