Pelican Water Skiing In the Evening Light

Caught this majestic pelican just as it started to land. The light enhancing this scene as well as the exact moment that the bird touches down on the surface of the lake makes for a wonderful photo. This is just one photo of the many water birds that reside in Colorado year round. The beginning of summer can be approximated by the arrival of pelicans, ospreys, and many of the shore birds that dot the surface and edges of the Colorado’s reservoirs.
