Osprey Fishing In the Evening

Photo of an Osprey with its claws dangling in the water as if it had just missed a fish, or the fish had yet to be lifted from the water.

Ospreys are one of Monique’s favorite photographic subjects. This one was photographed in the pond behind our house. From the wet feathers, we can surmise that the Osprey had just plunged into the river after a tasty fish and was taking to the air once again. With the leg dangling lower than the other this beautiful bird may have succeeded and is in the process of dragging its prey out of the water. I wonder what was on the next frame?
